Meet Our Team!
Lead Designer and Craftsman
Lyca Mikhael is an Architectural Designer, Old Ways Crafter, and Conveyor of Human Experience. His time at Cornell University fostered deep foundations in Architecture, Sculpture, Furniture Design, Woodworking, Wilderness and Landscape Ecology, Mythos and Cultural Anthropology. Lived-in experiences in off-grid homesteading, primitive lifeways, and self-built shelters through Upstate New York winters and Southern Appalachia summers have taught a great diversity of skills and respect for living close to the seasons and environment.
He has been building yurts for 8 years – an endeavor intent on preserving the universal magic of these structures and giving them fresh breath as the only of their kind on the American Continents.
Carpentry Crew
Our Fabrication Crew changes a bit every season, we like to bring in Free Agents for our project cycles and installations. Here are some of the fine carpenters we’ve worked with.
Phillip gets it done, nobody can boss a table saw around like this dog.
Jeremy has discipline and tradition at heart.
Eric is determined to learn and take new skills into ownership
Moon is clever and excited to massage out solutions.
Finishing / Assembly
Miss Ani Oakley is as much a sharpshooter as her namesake - her attention and acuity keep this ship tight and dry. She is our official Knotty Maestrias - we’ve never had someone wield rope and oil and clampy twisty things like her. She’s an avid learner, enjoys working outside, and is always up for a challenge. We’ve been stoked to cultivate this apprenticeship in woodworking, and so grateful for her work in assembly and finishing.
She’s a performer in Theatrical Circus and Cabaret arenas, and continues to broader her works as a costume designer! Fire Weapon of Choice : Rope Dart.
Sewing!
Amber enjoys the creative process of sewing and has been mastering her craft since her granmother inspired her to sew as a child. She appreciates having the ability to creat functional and beautiful pieces from raw fabric. In addition to working with the PYC team, she teaches children to sew and provides the local community with mending services.
Dreamwood LLC
Dreamwood is our Mother Organization that brings the Imagined into Reality – cultivating vision into form with creativity, discipline and reverence.
